PROGRAMME
20 October
And they cut off his head
By Rafael Amargo, with Luisa Chicano and El Carrete de Málaga
Inspired by the work of Caravaggio, this flamenco dance proposal moves away from the purely aesthetic to present a less idealised flamenco, a little rickety and even tenebrous, a dramatic work that plays on the balance between the animal - or fierce - and the human.
9 November
Forgive me for writing to you
By Antonio Zafra
Dramatic representation of a compendium of letters of farewell, love and despair. Real letters from illustrious figures in history who, in moments of vulnerability, write as the only way of saying what they have not been able to say in person, have not known how to say or are not capable of saying. With live music and an inclusive cast, the staging proposes the participation of the audience.
16 November
I am a dance
From Rosa Romero
The body is blurred and the desire to be something else appears. The current systemic mechanics capitalise bodies to such an extent that the only possible way to fight back is to destroy them. To do this, it would be necessary to invent new alternatives for the body, new boxes in which to enclose them and new methods for them to remain living and sensitive entities that are not materialised in physicality. To be a dance should be a worthy form of body.
23 November
The thresholds of inertia
By Chechu Gómez, Rafa Alférez and Salvador Castey
The telecommunications era has provided the possibility for the gay spirit to grow in visibility and empowerment. However, this seems to be only for the few. The world of social media, with its double standards, has placed physical normativity as a guiding banner, leaving behind the rest of the gay male community who still need the same kind of presence and who suffer from consequences such as ACEs, depression, anxiety or physical dysphoria. This work tries to speak and give voice to those who are on the margins of the margin, and to their need to listen and be listened to.
In the Cambara, your Quay 1 Restaurant, We are proud to celebrate the cultural richness of Malaga. We hope you have enjoyed exploring the cultural agenda of this wonderful region with us.
